Climate is a versatile term. Not only can it be applied to weather, it’s most common inference, but can also be applied to various societal spectrums such as health, politics, industry, culture, economics and more.

“Climate” can be used metaphorically to describe the prevailing conditions, attitudes, and overarching patterns in a specific domain. In this metaphorical sense, “climate” is a way to encapsulate the general environment or ‘atmosphere’ of a given field.
